User-Friendly Guide for the CM1250 $250 Capacity ChangeMaker

1. Equipment Inspection

Upon receiving your CM1250 ChangeMaker:

  • Inspect the packaging for any shipping damage.
  • Report damages immediately to the delivery carrier. Retain original packaging for warranty purposes.
  • Place the machine on a secure surface for further inspection before setup.

2. Unlocking the Change Maker

The ChangeMaker comes with two locks:

  • Left key: Turn counterclockwise ¼ turn.
  • Right key: Turn clockwise ¼ turn.
  • Opening: The front panel will swing open, supported by a chain.

3. Mounting the ChangeMaker

You have the option to mount the ChangeMaker on a secure surface.

Tools Needed:

  • Drill with a ¼" bit and appropriate hardware.

Steps:

  1. Secure the provided template to the mounting surface.
  2. Drill the holes.
  3. Unlock the front door and pull the Coin Hopper Assembly forward.
  4. Remove the three plugs inside the body.
  5. Attach the ChangeMaker to the surface with hardware.

4. Setting the Bill Validator

Your ChangeMaker is preset to validate the following bills, depending on the model:

  • Default: $1 and $5 bills.
  • Advanced models: $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills.

5. Setting the Hopper for Tokens

To dispense tokens instead of coins, follow these steps:

  1. Remove the VMC cover by unscrewing the thumbscrew.
  2. Locate the #6 switch under the A and B buttons.
  3. Flip the switch to ON.
  4. Adjust using the buttons:
  5. Once the value is set, flip the switch back to OFF and repeat for hopper #2.
  6. Test the machine to ensure programming is successful.

6. VMC Messages & Their Meanings

  • Insert Bills: Ready to accept bills.
  • Low Change: Limited coins available.
  • Out of Change: No coins left in the hopper.
  • Out of Service: Hopper fault.
  • Credit $x.xx: Bill accepted, showing credit.
  • Giving Change: Dispensing change.
  • Test Hopper 1: Single coin dispensed for testing.

7. Loading Currency

Before loading, ensure the machine is powered off and unplugged to avoid damaging the hopper.

  • Quarters: Pour directly into the Coin Hopper until full.
  • Tokens: Tokens must be similar in size to quarters (between 0.984 and 0.955 inches).

8. Bill Retrieval

Accepted bills are stored in the Bill Tray above the hopper. Regularly check and clear the tray to prevent jams.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Validator lights not green:
    • Check power and coin levels.
    • Unplug for one minute to reset.
  • Coin jams:
    • Remove the hopper and turn it upside down to clear jams.
  • Bill jams:
    • Open the Bill Validator and manually remove the jam.
  • Dispensing wrong amount of coins:
    • Check the coin settings and ensure coins aren't damaged.

10. Cleaning the ChangeMaker

Periodic cleaning will keep your ChangeMaker in top condition:

  • Coin Hopper: Use canned air or shake out debris. Avoid liquids or harsh chemicals.
